So, what will the Visual Communication Specialist at Terrestris do?

Specifically, this role serves to develop written and visual Communication Services for the Information Technology Division. You will develop
and implement outreach/communication activities by developing and compiling results/feedback from surveys, focus groups, and other engagements.

  What does a typical day look like for the Visual Communication Specialist?

You will:

  • Research analyze, and custom design visual materials relating to MRP program issues, field narratives, and correspondence
  • Build and edit visual materials for slide presentation for ITD as requested within the timeline identified when tasked
  • Maintain all visual assets in a graphic material library that includes all items produced under this contract and externally provided to the contractor by the government
  • Remediate and maintain content on the interagency SharePoint Sites, sub-sites, lists, libraries, and content (including pages, workflows, and items)
  • Develop and build intranet pages on emerging technologies as requested within the timeline identified when tasked
  • Develop and compile results/feedback from surveys, focus groups, and other engagements
  • Develop and maintain multimedia communication platforms ensuring information and visual designs are in compliance with USDA Web Standards and Style Guide

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the person we're looking for if you have:

  • A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or relevant field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • At least three (3) years of experience as a multimedia or broadcast journalist, or in marketing communications, graphic design, or a related field
  • The ability to write and produce engaging content for TV, radio, and/or online platforms
  • Familiarity with web design principles and content production
  • A working knowledge of MS Office, photo and video-editing software
  • An understanding of project management principles
  • Experience creating visual content for various platforms including social media, websites, internal communications, and marketing materials.
