As a part of our Finance Consulting team, you'll be at the forefront of this dynamic service line, driving change and delivering solutions that revolutionize business operations. You'll help our clients in transformation and innovation efforts: driving growth, reducing costs, and managing risks proactively.
What you will do Our Finance Consulting teams help deliver strategic advisory and consulting services to CFOs and finance organizations, providing our clients with a unique business perspective on how to improve, evolve or transform the finance function. Your efforts could include helping finance leaders reduce their cost base, increasing efficiency/quality of information or shifting emphasis from transactional to strategic finance activities to empower growth and enhance profitability.
As a staff consultant you will assist our clients across a range of finance and risk capabilities, which include the following:
- Overall transformation of the Finance function
- Optimization of Regulatory Reporting including regulatory exam readiness
- Improvement of the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) processes
- Transformation of Finance operations and Controller-related functions
- Improvement of the Procurement processes
Industry sectors: Our professionals are focused in three different industry sectors within which there are various opportunities available to start your career. During the application process you will have to opportunity to express your preferences. The sectors are:
- The Financial Services Organization (FSO) serves leading investment banks, retail and commercial banks, insurers, and investment managers.
- The Government and Public Sector (GPS) serves federal clients, as well as state and local agencies and higher education institutions.
- The National Consulting practice serves clients across a variety of industries including, but not limited to: Advanced Manufacturing & Mobility, Power & Utilities, Health Sciences & Wellness, Consumer, and Technology, Media & Entertainment and Telecommunications.
Job Requirements and Preferences - Working towards an undergrad or master's degree in finance, information systems, business, or a relevant discipline, supported by a strong academic record.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring clear and effective interactions with team members and clients.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a strong academic background in business and technology disciplines.
- Flexibility and readiness to travel and work beyond standard hours when necessary (Ways of Working)
- Familiarity in finance and information systems to bridge the gap between financial acumen and technological expertise.
- Familiarity of AI and familiarity with prompt logic and data needs to drive AI modeling.
- A demonstrated interest to work in consulting as reflected in relevant course work, organizational involvement, or internships.
- Demonstrate a growth-oriented mindset with the ability to innovate and adapt in a dynamic business landscape.
- Exhibit intellectual curiosity and a purpose-driven approach to turn challenges into opportunities and drive meaningful change.
- Utilize structured thinking to effectively analyze and articulate complex problems and solutions.
- Leverage collaborative problem-solving skills and a keen interest in technology to positively influence global and domestic business operations.
- Access to reliable transportation for commuting to EY office and client sites, with a driver's license preferred (Ways of Working)
What we offer
We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The salary range for this job, in the US, is $35.63- $40.19 per hour. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.

Our expectation is for most people to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
