Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled RESPA Disclosure Support Specialist to join our growing team. As a RESPA Disclosure Desk Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) disclosures are accurately prepared and delivered in compliance with federal regulations. Your role will involve coordinating with various departments to gather necessary information, reviewing documents for accuracy, and addressing any issues that arise during the disclosure process. You will play a key role in maintaining our company’s compliance with RESPA requirements and enhancing the customer experience. This position is located in our Corporate Headquarters in Jacksonville, FL.

Essential Functions:

  1. Disclosure Preparation and Review:
  • Prepare and review RESPA disclosures, including the Loan Estimate (LE) and Closing Disclosure (CD), to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal regulations.
  • Verify that all required information is included and that calculations are correct.
  • Compliance and Regulation Adherence:
  • Stay up-to-date with RESPA regulations and industry standards to ensure that all disclosures meet current legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Department to address any regulatory changes or updates.
  • Coordination with Internal Teams:
  • Work closely with loan officers, processors, and underwriters to gather necessary information and resolve discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to facilitate timely and accurate disclosure preparation.
  • Customer Communication:
  • Address inquiries from customers regarding RESPA disclosures, providing clear and accurate information as needed.
  • Ensure that disclosures are delivered to customers within the required timeframes and assist with any follow-up actions.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:
  • Maintain organized records of all RESPA-related documents and communications.
  • Ensure that documentation is accurate, complete, and readily accessible for audits or reviews.
  • Issue Resolution:
  • Identify and address any issues or errors in the disclosure process, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Escalate complex issues to the RESPA Disclosure Desk Supervisor for further resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for RESPA disclosure processes.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage lending, compliance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of RESPA regulations.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in using mortgage software and systems.
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
