Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Technician to support our manufacturing operations. This role will focus on the introduction of new parts and processes, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and providing technical support to both our team and customers. This position will work first shift with standard working hours of 5:00am – 3:00pm Monday – Thursday.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Inspect production parts; complete in-process inspection (IR), and select feature reports
• Perform incoming inspection using hard gages (such as thread gages, plug gages, micrometers, calipers) and run parts on CMM and/or Micro-Vu
• Review parts and paperwork from Machine Operators and move parts to their next operation
• Assist machinists with proving out new parts and correcting various programs/process concerns
• Create, maintain, and support CMM/SmartScope programs; design and maintain CMM/SmartScope fixturing
• Create and maintain specific work instructions to support manufacturing operations
• Verify first piece; complete Gage R&R, CPK studies and PPAPs
• Update old measurement programs
• Assist with interpretation of GD&T specifications
• Assist with internal auditing
• Assist in training and onboarding new employees
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be very detail oriented
• Must have an understanding of CMM programming, GD&T tolerancing, CNC machining and processes that go along with manufacturing
• Must have an understanding of CMM programming software and Solidworks, or equivalent
• Must possess knowledge of Quality Management System tools, continuous improvement methods, quality control and statistical techniques
• Must have highly accurate computer data entry skills and basic computer skills
• Must have solid problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills
• Must have effective written and verbal communication skills with a positive and professional attitude
• Must have effective planning and organizational skills to meet deadlines with frequent interruptions
• Must have valid Driver’s License
• Must have High School diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment, required
• Experience using traditional inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators), surface plate inspection methods (using gage blocks, indicators, sine bars) and CMM experience, required
• 1+ years of CMM programming experience, preferred
