Outside Sales Director – Merchant Acquisition (Retail & Restaurant Focus)

Location: Onsite in Illinois

Base Salary: $80,000/year + bonus + commission

What You’ll Do:

As the Outside Sales Director – Merchant Acquisition , you will:

  • Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team: Build, coach, and manage an inside sales team dedicated to acquiring retail and restaurant merchant accounts nationwide.
  • Drive Sales Strategy: Create and implement innovative sales strategies focusing on cash discount pricing and other cost-saving payment solutions.
  • Collaborate with Marketing: Work closely with marketing teams to design lead generation campaigns targeting retail and restaurant businesses.
  • Mentor Sales Professionals: Provide hands-on training to sales reps, ensuring they excel in product knowledge and master best practices for selling merchant services.
  • Achieve Sales Goals: Oversee the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, while driving the team to consistently meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Analyze and Optimize Performance: Use data insights to identify growth opportunities, refine the sales process, and foster continuous improvement.
  • Build Lasting Partnerships: Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in the retail and restaurant sectors.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven Industry Expertise: 5+ years of experience in merchant services sales, with a focus on acquiring retail and restaurant businesses.
  • Leadership Experience: 2+ years in a management or leadership role, with a track record of developing and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Hands-On Sales Skills: Extensive experience selling cash discount pricing and payment processing solutions – this is essential.
  • Innovative Thinker: Ability to develop creative sales strategies and adapt to evolving market trends.
  • Strong Communicator: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a talent for relationship-building.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Analytical mindset with a focus on performance tracking and optimization.
