Nurse Position Description:
Gateway Gastroenterology is looking for a clinical office nurse to join our staff in providing patient-centered, high-value care in our office and our infusion center. Our nurses work Monday-Friday only with no after hours call or weekend call. Full-time or part-time positions are available. **Nurse Responsibilities:**
**Patient Care:**
- Administer iv medications and injections as prescribed by the physician.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report any concerns to the physician.
**Clinical Support:**
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and equipment, ensuring all are properly sanitized and ready for use.
- Manage and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
-Triage and manage patient phone calls
- Address patient questions and concerns, providing support and reassurance.
**Administrative Duties:**
- Assist with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and patient referrals.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and order replacements as needed.
**Collaboration:**
- Work closely with the gastroenterology team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other healthcare providers.
- Participate in office meetings and contribute to improving office procedures and patient care practices.
**Nursing Qualifications:**
- **Education:** Nursing degree from an accredited institution (RN).
- **Licensure/Certification:** Current nursing license in Missouri. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- **Experience:** Previous experience in a gastroenterology or related medical field preferred. Familiarity with gastroenterological procedures and patient care is advantageous.
- **Nursing Skills:**
- Excellent clinical and patient care skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, eClinicalWorks preferred.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Capable of standing and walking around the office.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and responsibilities.
**Work Environment:**
- Primarily office-based in an outpatient building with medical equipment.
- Collaborative and team-oriented setting.
**Nurse Salary range**
$66,000 - $75,000
