Job Summary

The Manufacturing Estimator Oversees and directs all aspects of estimating for many different manufacturing business units to include but not limited to: Hot Mix, Crushed/Washed/Screened Aggregates Ready Mix and Pre-Cast Concrete. Prepares project status reports, schedules, margins and works to ensure products adhere to contract specifications. Must have knowledge in Alaska DOT&PF, USACE, private utilities and alternative delivery construction projects, along with knowledge in Hot Mix, Ready Mix, Aggregate and Pre-Cast material specifications.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze drawings to identify precast concrete components and their dimensions and quantities.
  • Quantify materials, labor, and equipment required for precast concrete fabrication and production.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost estimates to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Monitor/control production through administrative direction of managers/engineers/foreman to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget.

Education & Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years’ estimating experience on Alaska DOT&PF, USACE and utility projects
  • 3 to 5 years supervising field construction of private work
  • Engineering degree, 4 year college degree and/or 5-7 years of construction experience

Physical Requirements

  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
  • Regularly required to communicate (talk, provide presentations and hear)
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms
  • Standing/working on feet for long periods
  • Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
  • Proven track record working safely
  • Good work ethic, professional, and positive attitude
