Responsibilities
You will be responsible for maintaining all areas of the historic Lonz property on Middle Bass Island. While some of your tasks may be focused on a specific area or individual task, you will more frequently need to provide your services in various locations around the property. It is essential that you take responsibility for the equipment you use and perform your duties safely and responsibly to ensure the safety of yourself, your team members, and our guests.
When working with potentially dangerous equipment, it is essential to understand safety procedures and remain aware of others around you during all maintenance duties you are performing.
You may find that your shifts involve tasks such as power washing windows, patios, sidewalks, leaf removal, waste management, and general cleanup and repair work around the exterior of the buildings. At other times during your shifts, you may be assigned to the dining, kitchen, and bar areas, where responsibilities include repairing broken furniture and addressing malfunctioning equipment. Furthermore, shifts may also require maintenance of the service areas, which encompasses ensuring cleanliness, mopping floors, and providing necessary maintenance to furnishings and equipment. Given the diverse nature of these assignments, it is essential for employees to remain adaptable and prepared for a variety of tasks each time they report for work.
Qualifications
Prior experience in maintenance and repair work is preferred, but it is not mandatory. If you lack this experience, you can still apply if you have the motivation to learn and the initiative to try new tasks.
You must be able to collaborate effectively with management to solve problems and organize work with appropriate prioritization.
Physical fitness is essential, as the role involves a significant amount of heavy lifting and carrying. You should be able to follow directions and instructions. In addition to being analytical, you should also be organized, capable of diagnosing problems easily, and able to offer advice when needed.
