Maintenance Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of skilled technicians in performing electrical and mechanical maintenance to ensure the efficiency and reliability of manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to preventive and corrective maintenance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy manufacturing, electrical expertise at a journeyman level, and the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities: Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance:

Utilize testing equipment such as ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to diagnose electrical and mechanical issues.
Maintain, repair, and replace wiring, fuses, contactors, relays, circuit breakers, switches, and other electrical components.
Use hand and power tools, including conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, hacksaws, wire strippers, drills, and saws for maintenance tasks.

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:

Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential equipment issues before failures occur.
Repair motors, transformers, generators, and industrial robotics control systems.
Respond promptly to facility emergencies and breakdowns, minimizing downtime.
Implement and enforce lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Technical Expertise:

Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures using electrical and mechanical knowledge.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and the National Electrical Code to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Work with high-voltage systems (240V, 400V 3-phase) and oversee the maintenance of facility electrical systems, including HVAC.

Leadership & Team Development:

Supervise and direct maintenance personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
Provide hands-on training and mentorship to junior employees to develop departmental expertise.
Collaborate with Electronic Technicians and Electrical Engineers to resolve complex technical issues.
Delegate tasks effectively and ensure completion of maintenance projects in alignment with production goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

10+ years of experience in heavy manufacturing maintenance.
Electrical expertise equivalent to a journeyman certification.
Strong mechanical knowledge, ideally at a journeyman level.
Proficiency in troubleshooting motors, transformers, and industrial robotics.
Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code and relevant safety regulations.
