Key Responsibilities:
- Inquiries & Payments: Address and resolve internal and external inquiries related to premium invoicing, ensuring a smooth and accurate process.
- Payment Analysis: Investigate over- or under-premium payments and present findings to leadership for review and action.
- Issue Resolution: Research and resolve member premium issues or discrepancies, providing thoughtful recommendations for resolution.
- SQL Queries: Develop and execute simple to moderate SQL queries to reconcile various revenue streams, ensuring accuracy in member accounts.
- Payment Disputes: Manage disputes related to payments from merchant services and lockbox items, ensuring timely and accurate application of funds.
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with print vendors to update billing notifications and member notices according to regulatory guidelines.
- BPO Vendor Liaison: Work with BPO vendors to address programming needs and other business requirements.
- Refund Processing: Analyze and process refund requests or overpayments, ensuring accurate and timely member refunds.
- Commission Verification: Verify and ensure accuracy of broker commission payments.
- Reporting: Prepare month-end reports and journal entries for financial and management reporting needs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Accurately interpret and apply regulatory requirements related to premium billing and revenue reconciliation.
- Organizational Support: Serve as a trusted resource, embodying organizational values and fostering strong internal relationships.
- Continuous Improvement: Incorporate LEAN principles into daily work practices.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as needed to support the success of Health Plan operations.

Education & Experience:
- Experience: At least three years of experience in premium billing, reconciliation, and reporting. Experience with large data sets and moderate SQL queries is required. Managed care experience related to commercial products is a must.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Health Care Administration, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Key Qualifications:
- Healthcare Billing Knowledge: Strong understanding of premium billing practices in the healthcare industry.
- Accounting Principles: Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and general accounting theory.
- SQL Skills: Proficiency in SQL Server query development and writing.
- Software Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
