Where you fit in The Utilities Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical reliability and technical assurance for the Utilities Production Areas.
- Supports their Production Team to ensure safe and reliable unit operations. Act as the first level technical resource to Electrical Inspectors to assist in the resolution of problems and development of solutions. Coordinate support with other technical groups, projects group and Operations
- Review design packages and drawings to ensure full compliance with applicable standards and to ensure that all specifications are correct
- Participate in design and construction functions such as HAZOPS's, SHA's, PSSR's
- Recommend equipment replacement or improvements and initiate Project Initiation Form (PIF's) to improve reliability of electrical equipment
- Perform assessments in support of risk-based inspection programs
- Ensure the electrical system model has been updated for new electrical supply and equipment connections
- Participates in Causal Investigations to understand equipment failures using AMS Work Processes
- Participate in development of capital 5-year plan of prioritized asset integrity risk
- Helps ensure site electrical one-line diagrams are accurately represented in ASSAI
- Helps ensure electrical Non-Routine Maintenance (NRM) programs are embedded into Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)/ Managed Equipment Care (MEC) plans
- Will be responsible to assist in the mentorship of entry level Electrical Engineers and create a challenging technical learning environment
- Review Management of Change (MOC's) for entry level Electrical Engineers where required
- Maintain skill in applying new and specific technologies related to Electrical condition monitoring and performance monitoring (i.e. Industrial Power Distribution, Partial Discharge testing, System condition monitoring, Infrared Temperature surveys, Protective Relaying, etc.). Review the data generated to determine the proper corrective action or interpretation. Share this information with other Electrical Engineer(s) for training purposes
- Provide technical support for the design, selection, alteration and re-rating of electrical equipment in accordance with applicable industry and company codes and standards
- Provide technical assurance for temporary repairs
- Provide technical support to turnaround planning and execution for electrical equipment
- Support the MOC work process to ensure changes fully account for electrical technical specifications
- Manage electrical reliability threats via the Fit4 work process
- Support the execution for turnarounds and pitstops
- Clear alignment on electrical bad actor threats and mitigations through effective standard designs
- Deliver quality assurance review for all electrical switching procedures associated with Sub Turnaround (T/As)
- Delivery of standardized base substation Turnaround (T/A) scopes.
- Provide electrical expertise to the other Electrical Engineers that is needed to ensure the site electrical system is safe and reliable
- Manage quality of low complexity capital project scope identification and assessment
- Customer/Approver for all electrical small cap. projects.

What we need from you - Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required
- With at least 5 years relevant experience
- Knowledgeable in medium voltage systems is a plus
The base salary range for this position is $122,000 - $182,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
