About The Department

The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 500 student-athletes. The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 117 conference titles. The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first American Athletic Conference program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021. Olympic gold medalist volleyball player Jordan Thompson, NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and Major League Baseball legend Sandy Koufax are among the several luminaries who have competed as Bearcats.

Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati, Department of Athletics is seeking applicants for Digital Content Producer positions (Creative Videographer). As many as two vacancies may be filled and assigned to support either the football program or corporate partnerships.

The successful candidates will support storytelling efforts for the department of athletics through the execution of artistic, cinematic video, hype pieces, digital design, and social media content that highlight staff, coaches and student-athletes to engage fans, enhance the student-athlete experience, generate excitement around athletic programs, and elevate the department’s brand while following all departmental, university, conference, and NCAA policies and regulations.

Essential Functions

• Support storytelling efforts through video, digital design, and social media.
• Edit captured video & photographs. Incorporate music, video, static & motion graphics, and VoiceOver to tell compelling and visually pleasing stories for marketing purposes.
• Collaborate with digital, marketing, communications, corporate sponsorships, and department lead to develop concept and ideas and deliver a product cohesive with current communication and marketing strategies while driving revenue and fan engagement.
• Support content planning and execution for game days and other athletic events.
• Seek and capitalize on opportunities to capture video, photographs and audio to create promotional videos by attending university and athletic events.
• May assist in producing creative assets for recruiting efforts, ensuring alignment with team and department goals.
• Work closely with department lead to meet deadlines for release of content.
• Setup and tear down video, photograph, and audio equipment before and after events.
• Keep equipment in good working order. Provide input in the purchase of equipment and software.
• Archive and organize digital assets for easy accessibility and future use.
• Stay abreast of video trends and what is popular/successful in college athletics.
• May be required to drive a university vehicle and/or student-athletes.
• Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
  
  

Required Education

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
  
  

Required Experience

• Two (2) years of relevant experience.
• Previous work as a video editor with hands-on experience with editing software. Will consider internship and student worker/Graduate Assistant experience.
