JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled Design Manager proficient in the construction process and adept at
leading a team of drafters and designers, including managing outsourcing needs. The ideal
candidate excels in translating customer requirements into practical, cost-effective design
solutions within budget constraints. This role requires a proactive approach to resolving design
issues, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving process improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and mentor the design and drafting team, including in-house staff and outsourced vendors.
Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, promoting continuous improvement
and professional growth.
Collaborate closely with clients to understand their design needs and propose viable solutions
that align with their vision and requirements.
Develop and refine design iterations, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and project
specifications.
Oversee the preparation of comprehensive fabrication drawings and documents for the
manufacturing team.
Ensure all design work adheres to established budget constraints and project timelines.
Proactively identify potential design and fabrication issues, offering technical solutions to
maintain project continuity.
Support the team in resolving technical challenges and improving design quality.
Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency in design and
manufacturing processes.
Implement strategies that streamline workflows and optimize resource utilization.
Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively under tight deadlines.
Monitor project costs and ensure all design modifications are cost-efficient and budgetcompliant.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Strong technical skills with proficiency in CAD and Solidworks and/or Inventor software.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent technical degree
with relevant experience preferred.
Proven leadership experience in managing design and drafting teams.
Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on practical, cost-efficient solutions.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively articulating design concepts and
solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement processes, with the ability to effectively
implement strategies that enhance team productivity and design efficiency.
