Assistant Community Manager

Location: Middle River, MD

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dependable and professional Assistant Community Manager to support the daily operations of a 347-unit apartment community. This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role in a fast-paced environment. If you have experience in property management, strong administrative skills, and the ability to handle challenging conversations with professionalism , we want to hear from you.

Position Overview

This is not an ordinary assistant role. As the second-in-command , you will work closely with the Community Manager to ensure smooth operations, positive resident relations, and timely rent collections. You must be able to balance firm policy enforcement with a commitment to excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Community Manager to ensure timely rent collection and lease compliance.
  • Manage the entire collections process, including sending notices and coordinating with legal teams.
  • Handle lease enforcement and resident issues in a professional and solution-oriented manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident communications, maintenance requests, and office files.
  • Coordinate and host resident events to promote a positive community atmosphere.
  • Process administrative tasks, including work orders, vendor invoices, and reports.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing community policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of property management or related administrative experience .
  • Proven experience in collections and lease enforcement .
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation .
  • Fair Housing Certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and property management software .
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and holidays as needed.
