We are excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting and Finance Intern to join our team. This internship is a fantastic chance to gain hands-on experience in various facets of accounting and finance, including monthly close work papers, acquisition integration, ERP implementation, and financial planning and analysis. You'll work closely with our finance team and gain valuable insights into corporate finance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing monthly close work papers, ensuring they are accurate and complete.
- Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and help in preparing financial statements.
- Review and verify financial data to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Support the finance team in integrating acquisitions, aligning accounting processes and systems.
- Analyze financial data from acquired entities to ensure proper consolidation.
- Document and implement best practices for the integration process.
- Assist in implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including gathering business requirements and supporting data migration.
- Help test the ERP system to ensure it meets business needs and functions correctly.
- Update and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Prepare presentations and reports summarizing financial analysis and findings for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship or work experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Knowledge of acquisition processes and financial integration.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
Details:
- Duration: Six months, starting on or around August 1st.
- Location: Remote with opportunities to visit the NY office; candidates in NY, NJ, CT, or PA preferred.
- Pay: Co-op (credits through school).
- Hours: 20-40 hours per week.
